Time to Recover:

If your identity is stolen, there are several ways that you can manage it, two of which we discussed previously. You of course can manage your credit report with a fraud alert or credit freeze, but what else?

Identity Theft

Well, did you know that there is identity theft insurance? It can cost around $25-50 per year and here’s how you can get it:

  • It might already be included in your homeowners or renters policy
  • It may be added as a rider to your other insurance
  • You can buy it as a standalone policy

Okay so to quickly review, we’ve got insurance, fraud alerts, and credit freezes; anything else?

Recovery Services For Identity Theft

There are actually recovery services that provide support to regain control of your name and finances. They can help you work with creditors and may be able to act on your behalf to correct things.

Oh, and we know this stuff can get confusing so if you need anything, just let us know.
