While not having health insurance can save you money, it puts you at great financial risk if any injury were to occur or illness develop. This is because health insurance is what pays for the treatment of such injuries and illnesses.
But, wait, is it required anywhere?
Yes. Health insurance is not required in every state, but there are a few exceptions:
- California
- District of Columbia (Washington D.C.)
- Massachusetts
- New Jersey
- Rhode Island
- Vermont
